Movement & Performance Assessment
A deep look at how you move — before something breaks down.
For the athlete in Los Angeles who wants to train smarter, break through a plateau, or stay ahead of the injury that keeps threatening to happen. Ninety minutes to understand exactly how you move and what's holding you back.
Apply to Work with MeWho it's for
Experienced runners, lifters, and fitness-oriented professionals who'd rather find the problem now than rehab it later. If you're training hard, chasing a specific goal, or feeling a recurring limitation that hasn't become a full injury yet, this is built for you.
What we look at
A 90-minute, full-body movement screen and analysis: mobility, strength, asymmetries, and the compensations that show up under load. Sport- and task-specific assessment — how you run, squat, hinge, press, or move for your sport — plus a technique review of the key lifts or movements that matter to you.
What you walk away with
A clear, written picture of how you move, what's limiting you, and what to prioritize — plus customized corrective and performance programming built around your goals. It's not a generic screen with a pass/fail score. It's a roadmap.
A follow-up session to put the plan into motion and adjust it, so the assessment turns into real change rather than a report you file away.
Why do it before you're hurt
Most injuries in active people aren't bad luck — they're capacity and mechanics catching up with training load. Finding the asymmetry, the mobility gap, or the technique flaw early is far cheaper than rehabbing the injury it eventually causes. And for healthy athletes, the same information is often the difference between a plateau and a new PR.
What makes this different
The assessment is run by Dr. Alex Chau — a Doctor of Physical Therapy and board-certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) — combining clinical reasoning with a performance lens. You get his full attention for the entire 90 minutes, and a plan tied to what you're actually trying to do.

FREQUENTLY ASKED
Questions, answered.
Do I need to be injured to book an assessment?
No — it's designed for the opposite. It's most valuable when you're healthy but want to train smarter, break through a plateau, or address a limitation before it becomes an injury.
How is this different from a regular PT session?
A treatment session is focused on resolving a specific problem. The assessment is a deeper, 90-minute look at how your whole body moves, with a written report and a performance-focused plan.
Will I get something I can actually use?
Yes. You leave with a written report of findings and priorities plus customized programming, and a follow-up session to put it into practice.
Do you take insurance?
The practice is cash-based. You'll receive a superbill you can submit for out-of-network reimbursement.
